The Saudi Arabia-funded Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sabaragamuwa will be ceremonially inaugurated today (04), with Prime Minister and Education Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya attending as the Chief Guest.
Funded through a US$50 million loan from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), the project includes a modern faculty complex, student hostels, a library, a 1,000-seat auditorium and a Professorial Unit at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital.
The new facility is Sri Lanka’s 10th Faculty of Medicine and is expected to expand access to medical education while helping address the country’s shortage of healthcare professionals. (NewsWire)
