Dry Weather to Prevail in Most Areas, Showers in Some Regions

WEATHER FORECAST FOR 12 JULY 2026

Several spells of showers will occur in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.

Few showers may occur in Western and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.

Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over Western slopes of the Central hills, North-central province and in Monaragala, Puttalam, Hambantota, Trincomalee and Mannar districts.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
