
Sugeeshwara Bandara, the former private secretary to ex‑President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, has been further remanded until July 30 in connection with allegations of obtaining salaries for two positions under the President’s expenditure head.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena issued the order after Bandara was produced in court today (22).
Sugeeshwara Bandara was arrested by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) on June 18 in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities involving government salaries.
He is accused of having received salaries from two separate government institutions simultaneously. (Newswire)
