Woman allegedly killed by husband following domestic dispute
A 48-year-old woman has been allegedly killed by her husband following a domestic dispute in the Ambakote area within the Welagedara Police Division.
Police said investigations were launched after receiving information that a woman who had sustained injuries in an attack with a sharp weapon had died upon admission to the Mawatagama Hospital today (06).
The victim was identified as a resident of Ambakote.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect, believed to be the victim’s husband, had allegedly attacked her with a sharp weapon following a family dispute.
The 50-year-old suspect has been arrested, while Welagedara Police are conducting further investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
