SCJ Volunteer Team Joins Community Cleaning Initiative in Navatkuly
Navatkuly, Jaffna — A community cleaning initiative was conducted in the Navatkuly area with the participation of the SCJ Volunteer Team, in collaboration with the Chavakkacheri Divisional Secretariat and the Clean Sri Lanka initiative.
The programme commenced at 7.30 a.m., bringing together government representatives, community volunteers, and public service personnel to contribute towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment in the area.
A total of 22 volunteers from the SCJ Volunteer Team participated in the cleaning programme and overall 150 village members gathered. Working alongside representatives from the Chavakkacheri Divisional Secretariat and the Clean Sri Lanka initiative, the volunteers actively contributed to cleaning public areas and improving the surrounding environment.
Representatives of the Sri Lanka Army and Police also participated in the initiative, providing an opportunity for different sectors of the community to work together towards a common goal.
The participation of the SCJ Volunteer Team demonstrated the group’s commitment to community service and its willingness to contribute to initiatives that benefit the local community. Through their involvement, the volunteers were able to engage with local government representatives and other participating organizations in a spirit of cooperation and service.
The programme also created an opportunity to strengthen relationships between the SCJ Volunteer Team, the Chavakkacheri Divisional Secretariat, and the Clean Sri Lanka initiative. The positive interaction among the participating groups opened possibilities for future cooperation in community service and environmental initiatives.
The event highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean environment. The participation of government institutions, security personnel, volunteer groups, and community members demonstrated how cooperation among different sectors can contribute to creating a cleaner and more sustainable community.
