Johnston Fernando granted bail after CIABOC arrest

Former minister Johnston Fernando has been granted bail after being produced before court following his arrest by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

CIABOC arrested Fernando over allegations linked to the procurement of chairs for the Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre in Polgolla.

The commission alleges that the transaction caused a loss of approximately Rs. 7.97 million to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau.(Newswire)
