16-year-old arrested over father’s killing in Matale

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested over the killing of his father in the Ukuwela area of Matale, Police said.

Police launched an investigation after receiving information that a man had been attacked and killed in the Ukuwela area of the Matale Police Division on the night of September 5.

The victim was a 40-year-old resident of Ukuwela, Matale.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the victim’s son allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon following a dispute.

The 16-year-old suspect has been arrested, while Matale Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
