Namal’s former secretary granted bail over unexplained Rs. 1.8 million

Sanjaya Samarasinghe, who served as a private secretary to opposition MP Namal Rajapaksa, has been granted bail following his arrest over the alleged failure to explain the source of Rs. 1.8 million found in a safe at his residence.

Samarasinghe was arrested in connection with an investigation into the cash recovered during a search of his home.

The investigation concerns the origin of the money and his alleged inability to satisfactorily account for it. (Newswire)
