Postman arrested over 2080 undelivered letters dating back to 2021
A postman attached to the Haldummulla Soragune Post Office has been arrested during an inspection conducted on information that he was consuming liquor while on duty.
During the search of his residence, police uncovered a stash of undelivered mail consisting of 2,065 ordinary letters and 15 registered letters.
Investigations revealed that the postman had failed to deliver mail since 2021.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Bandarawela Magistrate’s Court. (Newswire)
