Sevanagala OIC in hiding after molest of young WPC

The Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau has revealed that the Sevanagala OIC wanted in connection with an attempt to molest and rape an apprentice woman police constable (WPC), is in hiding. The Bureau has taken steps to file fact in the Embilipitiya Magistrate’s Court regarding this incident.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that she had become the victim of the OIC at the OIC’s office and the official quarters several times over. Investigations have revealed that several senior police officers in Sabaragamuwa province have known about this incident and they have not taken any action against the OIC.

But instead of that, the 21-year-old apprentice police constable was transferred to another police station in Embilipitiya police division and the investigations revealed that the OIC had been shielded. Police began investigations into the OIC based on the complaint made by the young WPC.
