Man who wore ‘uniform’ in protest arrested

The Colombo Fort Police arrested an individual over charges of being a member of an unlawful assembly and wearing a dress similar to the uniform of security forces during that assembly, which was held in front of the Police Headquarters on June 9, on Tuesday.

Police Media Spokesman, SSP Nihal Thladuwa said he was arrested in the Slave Island Police area. The arrested is a 35-year-old resident of Chilaw.He was produced before the Fort Magistrate yesterday. Colombo Fort Police are investigating.
