India rout Zimbabwe booking semi final berth against England

India booked a semi final slot against England in the T20 Cricket World Cup after they beat Zimbabwe by a huge margin of 71 runs in their last Super 12 match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground yesterday.

New Zealand will meet Pakistan in the other semi final.

India set Zimbabwe what was a beyond reach target of 187 after opener KL Rahul set the course with 51 in 35 balls with three fours and three sixes after which Suriyakumar Yadav smashed an unbeaten 61 in just 25 balls hammering six fours and four sixes.

Yadav picked up 20 runs in the last over bowled by Richard Ngarava hitting two sixes one of which came in the last ball as India made 186 for 5.

In chasing down the target, Zimbabwe were never able to challenge the Indian bowlers as they lost five wickets for just 36 runs by the eighth over that made the result a foregone conclusion.
