Bimandee bags triple crown

Promising table tennis player Bimandee Bandara won a triple crown at the Seventh All-Island Ranking Tournament conducted by the GSM Table Tennis and held at the S. Thomas’ College Indoor Stadium in Mount Lavinia. The schoolgirl from Hillwood College defeated Oneli Lehensa of Musaeus College 11-9, 11-7, 11-6 in the Women’s Open Singles final having earlier clinched the Girls’ Under-19 Singles and the Girls’ Under-17 Singles. Meanwhile, Prasad de Silva of Emjay International (Pvt) Limited won the Men’s Open Singles title when he defeated Chameera Ginige of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura 14-16, 11-1, 12-10, 11-4 in the final encounter.
