Sri Lanka women’s Rugby 7’s team departed yesterday to take part in the Asian Rugby 7’s second series in South Korea while the men’s team also accompanied the women’s team. “Our women’s team has confidence after having a successful Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. We have an experienced and young talented team well coached by Saliya Kumara.
For the first time, the Sri Lanka team has to compete under the National Olympic Committee flag but that is no issue for the players. They always consulate the game as their task is to come at least 3rd or 4th place, said, Dr. Samantha Nanayakkara. The Manager Dr. Samantha Nanayakkara, who has a Ph.D. in Sports Science, gives her full support to the team.
