Sylvestrians in innings win over Zahira

A fine all-round performance by Kavishka Imesh, who batted well to score an unbeaten 100 and bowled well to take 5 for 20 with a hattrick, helped St. Sylvester’s College to beat Zahira College by an innings and 27 runs in their traditional match played at Maradana on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sylverstrians batting first made 277 for 7 declared – Kavishka Imesh 100 not out, Malith Lakshan 76, Venkat Rajendra took 3 for 48 and Mohamed Akram 2 for 76 and Zahirians in their turn were able to score 157, Raeed Careem made 62, Malith Lakshan 3 for 13, Kanka Wickramasinghe 2 for29 and Isuru Gunasekara 2 for 40 and Zahirians in follow on were all out for 93
