Daniel and Jayamali claim Army squash titles

S. N. Daniel of the Gajaba Regiment and P. R. N. Jayamali of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps emerged Open Men’s and Women’s champions at the Army Inter Regiment Squash Tournament 2022, held at the Army Sports Complex in Panagoda.

Daniel defeated P. G. N. T. Bandara of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in the final encounter with R. M. S. L. K. Ekanayaka of Sri Lanka National Guard securing third place in the Men’s Open Tournament.

Jayamali defeated her teammate N. P. G. G. T. Priyawansha while J. R. M. N. Jayalath, also from the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, took third place in the Women’s Open Tournament.

Meanwhile, the Gajaba Regiment Team won the Men’s overall championship while the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Team emerged runners-up with the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Team securing third place.
