Police hunt for SJB electoral organizer

A senior Police officer in the Central Province stated that a special Police team has been deployed to arrest the electoral organizer of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Jayalath Bandara Dissanayake,  who is wanted for alleged assault and damaging decorations prepared for the the Nuwara Eliya District meeting of the Supreme Lanka Coalition (Uttara Lanka Sabhagaya) at the Hanguranketha Cultural Hall on Sunday.

Police said that SLC supporter Chandana Kumara Herath, a resident of Maliyadde, Gonaganthanna who was attacked has been admitted to the Hanguranketha Hospital.

Hanguranketha Police stated that Herath has given a statement to Police stating that Jayalath Bandara Dissanayake attacked him.Hanguranketha Police also state that the Police have not been able to arrest Dissanayake so far.
