Woman arrested for defrauding man of Rs.13.6 Mn

The Financial and Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department has arrested a woman who cheated a person by claiming that she would provide a house and defrauded him of Rs.13.6 million.

The woman is a 43-year-old resident of Kundasale Narendrasinghe Mawatha.

A special police team of the Criminal Investigation Department arrested her on Monday night.

The Financial and Commercial Crime Investigation Division stated that she had used an account in a Kandy branch of a private bank to commit this fraud.
