A boxing training camp organized by the Sri Lanka Boxing Coaches Association (BCASL) for the third time this year to update knowledge of the coaches is all set to be held at Digana Central Province Sports Complex on December 17 and 18.
As the President of the BCASL Upali Bandara has decided to conduct this camp. It is going to be held with the help of the BCASL Secretary Pradeep Jayasinghe, Treasurer Rajitha Kumara and all the members of the Executive Committee.
The association has arranged to hold this training program in a different way. It is expected that those who join the association initially and newcomers will be organized as a separate group and senior coaches will be organized into two separate groups. On the last day, all coaches will mingle into one team under a panel of expert speakers with international experience to update all coaches in Sri Lanka.
The main objective of this event is to register new trainers in the Boxing Coaches’ Association and increase the number of trainers to enhance their knowledge and produce a large number of skilled, active and tactical boxing players. “We hope to discuss more in this course to provide basic knowledge according to modern methods.
Participant should be registered for the coaching camp before 8.00a.m.(Saturday) on December 17.
A written test will also be conducted at the end of the series. The Sri Lanka Boxing Coach’s Association has decided to award certificates and the identity card for the registered coaches. (D.R)
