Fake Dalada Maligawa: CID records Diyawadana Nilame’s statement

Regarding the fake Dalada Maligawa at Pothuhera, Kurunegala, CID had obtained a statement from the Diyawadana Nilame of the Dalada Maligawa yesterday (12).

Two officers of the CID who arrived from Colombo had recorded a statement from the Diyawadana Nilame and are scheduled to obtain more statement from another group of persons in the future.

The Chief Prelate of the Malwatte Chapter Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala, Chief Prelate of the Asigiriya Chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Theras together with the Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela had sent the letter in connection with the fake Dalada Maligawa to the President on December 31, 2022.

This incident has been assigned to the CID which is carrying out investigations.
