JVP stalwarts took portfolios from CBK – Sajith

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said that an alternative political party is trying to inculcate an opinion in the public mind that both sides who ruled the country for 74 years

are same and the time has come to hand over the responsibility to a new group. Premadasa said that this alternative political party has forgotten that they were very much involved in the administration of the country during the time when President Chandrika Bandaranaike was the president. “Those who held the ministerial portfolios of the Chandrika Bandaranaike government is behaving in away that they were not involved in the governance,” he said. Premadasa was addressing a rally organized by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya in Matugama on Monday.

The Opposition Leader said that this political party is trying to deceive the public that they were a novel party and they are free from all corruption and vices. “The JVP leader was the Agriculture, Lands and Irrigation Minister and Vijitha Herath was the Minister of Culture. Former parliamentarians Lal Kantha, Chandrasena Wijesinghe, Bimal Rathnayake,Samantha Vidyarathna and Sunil Hadunnetti also held a number of positions in that government,”he said.
