Arrested with fake documents

Negombo Police on Wednesday arrested a suspect who made fake documents for the illegal transporting of meat to various parts in the country. He had conducted this illegal act from his car and had delivered the relevant documents to buyers in his vehicle.

The Negombo Police said the suspect had in his car a number of forged items including the official stamp of Batticaloa Mulankaville Police OIC, the Munakari Public Health Inspector’s seal, two official seals of the Munakari Pradeshiya Sabha, various other types of other official seals and documents related to Government officials.

There were three printed receipt books in the car similar to permission notices issued as per circular issued by the IGP regarding the transportation of meat. The suspect is to be produced in court.
