About 12,000 death accidents occur annually

While addressing the International Conference on Accident Prevention – 2023 (ICIPSL’23) Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana around 10,000-12,000 deaths are reported per year in the country due to various accidents.

He said that, these accidents result in around 12,000 deaths annually, which is an average of 1,000 deaths per month or nearly 35 deaths per day.
