Addalaichenai Sober SC limited over cricket champs

Sober Sports Club, Addalaichenai beat Eleven Star Sports Club, Oluvil in the final to emerge champions and bagged the ‘Al-Naja Mega Night Cup-2023’ of the eight-a- side limited over flood-lit cricket tournament conducted by Al-Naja Sports Club, Addalaichenai at the Addalaichenai New Star Playground recently.

Addalaichenai Al-Naja Sports Club President and Sports Coach attached to An-Noor Maha Vidyalaya, Addalaichenai A.M.Rizwan organized the tournament successfully to mark the completion of 20th years of the club.

Altogether 60 prominent cricket teams from the Ampara district participated. The final match was played between the Addalaichenai Sober Sports Club team and Eleven Star Sports Club, Oluvil teams.

Addalaichenai Sober Sports Club, won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 49 runs in their allocated five overs. In reply, Oluvil Eleven Star Sports Club, scored 42 runs.

The award ceremony and final match were held under the patronage of the Al-Naja SC Vice President S.Ithrees. Winners were awarded Trophy and Rs.40,000 cash prize by the Guests and the Oluvil Eleven Star Sports Club was awarded a cash prize of Rs.20,000 and trophy.

Man of the match award was secured by A.M.Jaseel, Best bowler of the tournament award was secured by R.Rafsan ans Man of the series award secured by Mohamed Akram of Sober SC.

The Ampara Additional District Secretary V.Jegatheesan was the chief guest at the award ceremony.
