Adjournment debate on Prez poll today
The Secretary General of Parliament Kushani Rohanadeera said that it was decided at he Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, chaired by the Speaker yesterday (10) to hold an adjournment debate regarding the holding of the Presidential Election in due time according to the legal provisions today (11).
The decision to hold the adjournment debate has been taken following a proposal jointly brought by NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the organiser of the Opposition Lakshman Kiriella on the holding of the Presidential Election between September 17 and October 16, 2024 in accordance with the directives given by the Constitution and other relevant laws.
The debate will be held from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm after the questions that require oral answers tomorrow.
