AG’s Dept clerk arrested for retrieving confidential information

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a clerk of the Attorney General’s Department in connection with an investigation of taking out confidential information illegally from the data storage of the AG’s Department. The suspect (36) is a resident of   Sayakkaramulla, Dunagana. The CID has found that this suspect had obtained confidential information pertaining to several sensitive investigations by entering the data storage illegally. It is yet to be found out whether the suspect had leaked the information to a third party.

The Digital Forensic Laboratory investigated this matter following a complaint received by the AG’s Department.
