Air Force sports club registered a historical win when they crushed SSC by an innings and 151 runs in the Major Club Emerging Cricket Tournament fixture played at Katunayake on Sunday.
An unbeaten double ton by Movin Subasinghe and s match bag of ten by Nadeera Ishan helped Air Force to win the three day encounter with two sessions of play to spare.
Air Force electing to bat first on thei home ground declared their first essay at 412/9 witj Movin Subasinghe registering an unbeaten 203 and Nadeera Ishan chipping in with a valuable 66. Movin’s unbeaten double ton was scored in 183 balls and consisted of 14 boundaries and 13 sixers.
Adding to their heroics with the bat Movin and Nadeera grabbed three wickets each to restrict SSC to 88 in 36.5 overs in their first essay. Following on Nadeera grabbed seven wickets while Movin captured two wickets to bowl SSC out for 173 runs in 51.1 overs. Keshan Wijerathne (37), Kasun Rajitha (37) and Traveen Mathew (23) contributed to the score.
