Akkaraipattu Raheemiya Sports Club limited over cricket champs

Raheemiya Sports Club, Akkaraipattu beat Arafa Sports Club, Palamunai in the final to emerge champions and bagged the ‘Tri Star Champion Trophy-2023’ of the eight-a- side limited 5 over’s cricket tournament conducted by Palamunai Tri Star Sports Club at the Palamunai Public Play Grounds in Addalaichenai DS division recently.

Tri Star Sports Club President, Sri Lanka Cricket Board Umpire, Palamunai Minhaj Maha Vidyalaya Physical Education Teacher and Coach I.L.M.Faiz organized the tournament to mark the completion of forty five years of the club.

The tournament saw record number of prominent teams from the Ampara region participated. Palamunai Arafa Sports Club batting first scored 49 runs in their allocated 5 overs. Akkaraipattu Raheemiya team in reply reached the target in 4.1 overs.

Winners were awarded champion trophy and Rs.30,000. cash prize by the Main Sponsor A.B.Riyas Jiffry and the Arafa Sports Club was awarded a cash prize of Rs.20,000 and trophy by the sponsor N.T.Uwais at the award ceremony.

Founder President of the Tri Star Sc M.I.Manaff, Advisor of the club and former Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Attorney-at-Law M.A.Anzil, former President N.T.Kamal, prominent people of the area, Tri Star SC officials, presidents of the sports clubs and players were present.
