Alighar National School enters final of The Ball Blaster Championship 2023

Alighar National School Eravur, Batticaloa qualified to the final of The Ball Blaster championship 2023 with a two nil win against St. Joseph’s College Colombo in their under 20, division one all Island Schools Football Championship 2023, sponsored by srilankankansportstv, organised and conducted by the Sri-Lanka Schools Football Association, under the guidance and supervision of the Ministry of Education, played at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium Colombo on 11th of November 2023.

Alighar National School Eravur, Batticaloa drawn from group “ B “ along with Zahira College Colombo, Baduriya Central College Mawanella, Muslim Central College Kalutara, and Jaffna Central College were the runner up in their respective group and qualifying to the quarter final, they beat St Henry’s College Jaffna by five goals to nil and beating St. Joseph’s College Colombo by 2 goals to nil in the semi final, Alighar National School Eravur Batticaloa winning the semi final made it to the final of The Ball Blaster“ Championship 2023.

Alighar National School R.M. Ihsan playing on the extreme right and getting a pass from mid field, had only to dribble the ball past the Josephian custodian, which he did it brilliantly to give them a one nil lead in the 33rd minute of the first half.Six minutes after the 1st goal, M.M.M. Munsif scored the 2nd goal in the 39th minute of the first half to give them a clear two nil lead at the half time.

Changing both sides in the second half, Joesephian’s making efforts to score, but the Alighar players were in much control of the game till the end of play with the same score standing as at half time, to see themi through to the final.
