Alliance led by PM Dinesh formed today

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP’s supporting President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the President in Colombo today (16).

Political sources reveal that decisions will be reached regarding the implementation of Presidential Election operations and future activities.

Meanwhile, a new political alliance is going to be unveiled with the  participation of nearly ninety members of parliament representing the SLPP, who are supporting the President.

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena will head the alliance with Minister Dr.Ramesh Pathirana as the General Secretary. Sources also state that President Ranil Wickremesinghe will be appointed as its patron.

It is also said that Minister Kanchana Wijesekera or Minister Prasanna Ranatunga will be appointed as the national organisers of the new alliance.
