An NPP govt will uphold rights of the working people – Lalkantha

NPP National Executive Member K.D. Lalkantha said his party will create a government that upholds the rights of the working people.

He said this while addressing the National Conference of Development Officers and Associated Service Officers at the Viharamahadevi Open Air Theatre in Colombo recently.

“After September 21, we will hold a conference again under a new constitution under a working people’s rule, under a government that affirms the rights of the working people,” he said.

He further said, “You and I have fought many struggles. A lot of agitations and strikes were undertaken. We have a big battle on the 21. We will fight to win on that battlefield. Our victory on the battlefield on September 21 has been assured.

“Let’s work for that victory from now on. Let’s ensure the victory of the Compass. Let’s win to ensure a win for the whole country.”
