Another suspect in kidney racket held at BIA

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) arrested another suspect in connection with the recently reported kidney racket, at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake while attempting to leave for Dubai on Thursday night.

He is a 33-year-old resident of Sangharaja Mawatha, Colombo 12.

He has been identified as the middleman who had been involved in the kidney racket that took place in a private hospital in Borella. Statements made to the police by five victims of the racket contain details about this suspect, police said. Accordingly, the police had obtained a foreign travel ban against the suspect from court.

The CCD is investigating.
