Appointed Post-Harvest Institute of Technology Chairman

Agriculture and Plantation Industries Minister Mahinda Amaraweera appointed Chandrasoma Peiris as the Chairman of the Post-Harvest Institute of Technology under the Agriculture and Plantation Industries Ministry yesterday (28).

Chandrasoma Peiris is a special grade officer in the Agriculture Service. He previously served as the Director General (Technology) of the Agriculture Ministry.

The Agriculture Minister instructed the new chairman to reactivate the currently inactive fruit and vegetable processing zones in the country as well as to further activate the programme currently implemented to minimize post-harvest wastage.
