Ashali a promising spiker from Nattandiya

Twelve year old up and coming Volleyball player grade seven student. Member of the school under 13 Volleyball Team, Member of the under 13 DSI All Island Runner up Volleyball team 2022 and Winner of the Best Setter of DSI All Island Tournament 2023 Ashali Thanya has brought honour and immense glory to her alma mater Dhammissara National School, Nattandiya.

Ashali who hails from Kokkoiamulla, Nattandiya was born on 7th February 2011 and admitted to her present school in 2017

and from grade three to grade five she took part at the inter house sports meets in running events and won places. When she came up to grade four she took an interest in Volleyball and her Parents Rohan de Silva and Susanthi Priyani handed over their daughter to the School PoG and she immediately came under Haritha Gihan.

Then in 2020 and 21 she could not participate in Volleyball due to Coronavirus and in 2022 her school participated in the DSI Divisional, Zonal, District and^ Provincial tournaments and they were the Champions. Same year participating for the DSI whole island tournament her school was the Runners up and she played as a Setter.

This year too going through the lower process and winning all the tournaments they participated in the DSI All Island under 13 tournament and they were the Champions and Ashali carried away the Best Setter Award of the under 13 tournament 2023.
