Badulla-Colombo road blocked in Haldummulla

Badulla District Secretariat said that the Badulla-Colombo main road has been completely blocked from the Haldummulla Bathgoda area due to landslide on the road due to bad weather conditions yesterday (5) evening. Haldummulla Divisional Secretary A.K.J. Priyangani said that, due to this, residents of five nearby houses were evacuated due to safety reasons. The Disaster Management Centre stated that this road was blocked for the sixth occasion in two weeks and that was the second time this road was blocked yesterday (5).

Police requested motorists to use alternate routes instead of this road as it may take some time to clear the road.
