Balangoda Kassapa Thera ordered to appear before Court over Trinco incident

The Trincomalee Magistrate has issued a notice for Balangoda Kassapa Thera to appear in court by December 10 after he reportedly refused to record a police statement regarding an incident at a temple property in Trincomalee.

Police said the Thera, who was in hospital at the time, declined to give a statement despite medical clearance, which they argue is a legal offence. (Newswire)
