Bestial son arrested over rape charges

Raththota Police arrested a 53-year-old person on the charge of sexually assaulting his 74-year-old mother in a hotel room in Rattota Udalimana.

The suspect, who was the hotel owner, was arrested on Wednesday (23) by Raththota Police according to a complaint made by the mother.

Mother is a resident of Mahiyanganaya.

She told the Police that she was sexually assaulted on August 2 (Wednesday) when she went to the hotel to visit his son from Mahiyanganaya. She further said to the Police that the suspect’s wife and the son are also living in the same hotel and on the day she was assaulted, they went to their home in Bogambara. She also told the Police that when she told his wife and son about the incident, they threatened her and told her not to tell anyone about it. Police said that this son is also engaged in drug trafficking and cases against him are currently pending in courts.

The mother has complained regarding this to the Police. The son was to be produced in court. A Senior Police officer said that an investigation will also be conducted against the wife and child who threatened the mother.
