The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved the proposal presented by Ports, Shipping and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva to award the ground handling service for handling Sri Lankan air passengers and mobile airlifts at Chennai International Airport to Bird Airport Services (Chennai) Pvt. Ltd., for a period of three years, upon the recommendation of the Cabinet Appointed Standing Procurement Committee. The existing ground handling service contract for handling Sri Lankan air passengers and mobile airlifts at Chennai International Airport is scheduled to expire on October 31 this year. Bids have
been invited under the Limited International Procurement Procedure for the selection of these services and three bids have been received.
