BLC 70th Anniversary Walk, musical show on August 17

Buddhist Ladies College, Colombo 7 (BLC) is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.

A pirith ceremony, heel dane for 70 Meheninwahanses, musical show and a school walk have been organised to mark the occasion.

The walk is to begin from the school premises on August 17, at 4.00 pm continuing down Green Path to end at the area in front of the Viharamahadevi Open Theatre. There will be food stalls and games and other activities, both at the school premises and the park, making it a perfect family outing. A musical show featuring artistes such as Bathiya Jayakody, Umaria Sinhawansa, Lahiru Perera and Wasthi, backed by the band Billy and 2FORTY2, will take place from 7.00 pm onwards at the Open Theatre.

T-Shirts and caps specially designed for the walk and tickets for the show are available at the school premises.

Alumni, parents and well wishers are welcome to join the events.
