British tourists at Avurudu pageant

Sri Lanka tourist arrivals from January 1 to April 7 2024, totaled 675,582 with 39,798 arriving from April 1 to 7. In a significant development British arrivals became the second best source market for Sri Lanka after India beating Russia to the third place while China dipped to seventh place.

Meanwhile, in a bid to provide a glimpse of some of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year traditions, Mighty Row travel agency in Galle organized a mini Avurudu pageant attracting a large number of tourists in the area. Here some British tourists participating in a cross country race and enthusiastic villagers throwing water to chill the participants.
