The first of the series of presidential candidate debates organized by the March 12 campaign will be held today (7) in the evening at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall premises in Colombo. Paffrel Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi said Presidential candidates Sajith Premadasa, Namal Rajapaksa, Dilith Jayaweera and P.Ariyanenthiran will participate. Sixteen candidates have confirmed their participation in the interviews and this debate will be broadcast live on all television channels and more than 200 social media networks today (7) from 3 to 5 pm.
Candidates Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, Nuwan Bopage, Sarath Manamendra, Anoj de Silva, Priyantha Wickremasinghe, Pani Wijesiriwardena, Mylvaganam Thilakaraja are scheduled to participate tomorrow (8).
President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Anura Kumara Dissanayake have not yet confirmed their participation up to now, Hettiarachchi said.
