Caught on Camera: Elderly pedestrian hit in Panadura motorcycle street race

A video circulating on social media shows two motorcyclists allegedly racing on Solomon Mawatha in the Wekada area of Panadura, resulting in an elderly pedestrian being struck while walking along the side of the road.

The footage, shows two motorbikes racing recklessly alongside each other and one knocking down the pedestrian.

The video has triggered public concern over reckless driving and illegal street racing, following a fatal weekend accident in Horana involving two racing motorcycles.

Police said a 17-year-old rider died after colliding with a car in the incident. (Newswire)
