CCTV shows missing PC who helped ‘Harak Kata’ running out of CID

Police investigations have revealed that the Police Constable who helped organized criminal and international drug trafficker, Nadun Chinthaka alias Harak Kata made two phone calls to his residence in Seruwila Trincomalee on the day he fled and the day after that.

Police said that three days have passed since the Constable fled, but so far no concrete information has been received about him.

Police say that he made a call on the night of his escape and said that he was in a foreign country without any trouble and on the following day (Monday) he also gave call through WhatsApp.

Police said that he fled from the main gate of the Criminal Investigation Department and no information has been revealed of his whereabouts Police have now found the CCTV footage of the constable running from the Criminal Investigation Department building while making a phone call.

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Nihal Talduwa said that it has so far been revealed that the Constable’s girlfriend did not know that he was having a close relationship with Harak Kata.

According to police sources, four police constables and a female police constable and a sub-inspector of the Public Complaints Division of the Criminal Investigation Department who had taken Harak Kata into custody last Sunday to record his statements have been transferred internally until investigations are over.
