Ceylon Tea Brokers appoints Independent Non Executives Directors to Board
Ceylon Tea Brokers announced three new appointments Beshan Kulapala, Amrah Akbar and Mihirini De Zoysa to its Board as Independent Non Executives Directors, effective from September 27.
Kulapala is the Co-Founder and CEO of Cyrus EV Chargers and VP of Innovation and Technology for Volt Charge and also heads VoltX Pvt Ltd. He was the Director and co-founder of Vega Innovations.
Beshan developed Sri Lanka’s and South Asia’s first electric super car, unveiling it at the Geneva Motor show 2020. Beshan was an Engineering Manager at Intel Corporation, USA, Co-Founder VCU and the Chairman Sarva Medical Clinic. Beshan obtained his bachelor’s from University of Kentucky, Master’s and PhD in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the Arizona State University, USA.
Amrah Akbar has been working in industries such as energy, banking, apparel manufacturing, healthcare and innovation. An Oxford Alum and Chartered Accountant in (England & Wales), with recurrent successes in growing business via leading teams to take concepts from ideation stage to launch and M&A. Experience in business development, brand management, product launch, partnerships, scaling and fundraising.
Mihirini De Zoysa has been working with leaders and organisations, supporting them through transitions and transformation. She has experience in various industries including healthcare, banking, insurance, IT, apparel, publishing, telecommunications, plantations, hospitality, in UN and World Bank.
She is the founder of Corporate Druids (pvt) Ltd, a Non-Executive Director of Logicare (Pvt) ltd, and faculty of Hult Ashridge, UK.
Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC Board of Directors comprises, Niraj De Mel (Chairman), Ajith Fernando, Chrisantha Perera, Shiromal Cooray, Sharmali Perera, Waruna De Silva, Dinesh Fernando, Thilina Nonis, Zameel Mohomed, Beshan Kulapala, Amrah Akbar and Mihirini De Zoysa.
