CID records statements from two Finance Ministry officers

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has recorded statements from two Finance Ministry directors regarding the investigation regarding the alleged fraud related to the supply of Human Immunoglobulin vaccine to the Health Ministry’s Medical Supplies Division using fake documents.

These statements have been recorded from the Deputy Director of the Public Finance Department of the Finance Ministry and the Deputy Director General of the Financial Development Department of the Finance Ministry. The information of the Criminal Investigation Department stated that the recording of these statements was done on the basis of permission obtained from the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court. The Criminal Investigation Department is slated to take statements from several more people in the future with regard to the relevant investigation.
