Coastal line trains remain restricted after Galu Kumari derailment
The Railway Department says that train operations on the coastal line remain restricted.
This is due to ongoing work to re-rail the Galu Kumari train, which derailed yesterday (16) evening near the Ginthota railway station.
Accordingly, trains from Colombo to Galle will operate only up to Boossa or Hikkaduwa stations.
Trains coming from Beliatta will run only up to Galle.
The department further stated that it will take several more hours to fully restore the railway line.
