Colombo Fort Magistrate visits CID to observe Harak Kata and Kudu Salindu

Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday visited the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to observe two notorious well-known underworld criminals Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne alias Harak Kata and Salindu Malshitha Gunaratne alias Kudu Salindu.

The Magistrate made this visit following a request made by the Criminal Investigations Department.

Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne alias Harak Kata and Salindu Malshitha Gunaratne alias Kudu Salidu, who were brought to the country on Wednesday have been detained for 90 days by the Criminal Investigations Department for further questioning.

The Magistrate observed that a Magistrate has the authority to observe the suspects who were detained at a Police station or any other security camp within his jurisdiction.

Eight people, including the two international drug traffickers who went to Madagascar in a private jet on February 12, posing off as wealthy men were arrested at the Ivato Airport in Madagascar on March 1 by the Madagascar authorities. They were arrested when they arrived at the airport to leave Madagascar.
