Commando style operation to free Salindu, Harak Kata planned

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday revealed the Information about a plan to launch a series of attacks on the CID to free the drug traffickers Nadun Chinthaka alias Harak Kata and Salindu Malshika alias Panadure  Kudu Salidu, who are being held under the custody of the CID on detention orders. According to Police sources, two suspects who planned the attack have been arrested and the information about this attack was revealed during the questioning of them and they are detained currently under the under the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism Act for further intoregations.

After the attempt of escaping Harak Kata from the Criminal Investigation Department with the help of a corrupt officer of the Criminal Investigation Department went awry, the authorities of the Criminal Investigation Department started an extensive investigation about the officers and outsiders who had contact with Harak Kata.

The Digital Forensic Computer Laboratory Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department has also been involved in this investigation. Accordingly, the officers of the Digital Forensic Computer Laboratory Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department arrested a 40-year-old hotel manager, a resident of Kapparathota, Weligama, who had connections with Harak Kata on October 20.

Digital Forensic Computer Lab officials also arrested a 45-year-old retired army soldier residing in Dewalegama, Kahagalle based on the information revealed in their investigations on October 23.

The details of another plan to escape Harak Kata from the Criminal Investigation Department have been revealed while questioning them.
