Committee to hold Football election

Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has appointed three member special committee yesterday to handle activities of the Football Federation and to conduct Football elections.

This three member committee comprised A.G.C Deshappriya (Chairman), Mrs N.K. Kapurubandara (Secretary) and K.A.R.C Kahadawala (Treasurer). Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe used his power vested by the 1973 no 25 Sports Act to appoint this committee and already the gazette notification has been issued on last Monday .

Sri Lanka Football Federation already banned by World Football Body (FIFA) and Sports Minister met FIFA officials to clarify present situation recently.

The new gazette notification already stated appointed three member committee has to do their duty which consist of conducting the Football Federation election and appoint officials for a period of four years.
