Computer system failure in the Consular Affairs Division

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the activities of the consular section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been disrupted due to a malfunctioning of the computer system.

Accordingly, there is a delay in the document certification activities of the consular section.

It is said that due to this, the operations of the Ministry’s office in Colombo as well as the regional consular offices have been disrupted.

At the moment only urgent documents are being processed until the computer system is restored.

Ministry has also stated that, apart from the certification lf documents, all other activities of the consular office are being carried out as usual without any disruption.
